Your STRONG Challenge continues with Connect!

Did you know that on average we receive over 6000 messages a day? These constant beeps, dings, buzzes and tweets are demanding our attention and severely hurting our health. And worse, they are pulling us away from the things that truly matter the most in our short lives. This week, you will be challenged go to deeper mentally and spiritually in the Challenge. You got this and we believe in YOU, because YOU are STRONG

STRONG ACTIVITIES

Below are some ideas to get you off the couch and onto a new healthier life. This is how we’ll fight, how we’ll get STRONG.

Itasca County Family YMCA

  • Monday: Sally Challenge
  • Tuesday: Kristin’s Nutrition Tip of the Week
  • Wednesday: Walk with the Y: Join us at 12:15pm for a 1 mile walk
  • Thursday: Balance Tai Chi Live at 11:15am
  • Friday: Meditation Tips from Katie

Superior Douglas County YMCA

  • Join us for a webinar Monday, November 2nd at 6:00pm presented by UW-Superior’s Director of Health, Counseling and Well-Being, Randy Barker M.S.Ed., LPC , on “The Science and Practice of Mindfulness and Well-Being During Difficult Times for families.”

  • YOGA FLOW–Link conscious breaths with a mindful flow- Friday, November 6th at 10:00am (Superior YMCA Members Only)
  • Hike the Hill Take friends, family, or pets on a two mile  to see some of the snow covered sites of Duluth and visit Enger tower!
  • CONNECT with your family; turn off ALL electronics-no TV, phones, computers or tablets. Sit down and have dinner together and have meaningful conversations.
  • CONNECT with yourself, your faith, and nature through a hike or trail walk (journal your experience)!

Downtown Duluth YMCA

  • Gentle Yoga is a great class to try and connect body and mind while moving through movement to provide more flexibility and mobility.
  • Kids Club will be extending hours starting the 2nd to 9-11am, 11:15am-1:15pm, and 5-7pm!
  • Noon basketball will be happening again this month! Go to the front desk and register for a spot to play from 11:45am – 1:15pm Tuesday – Friday.
  • F.A.S.T. (for teens) is a great program for teens to come and be put through vigorous exercises to build strength and endurance.
  • Schedule an orientation with one of our wellness coaches to be show how some of the exercise equipment works and provided a sample workout routine!

  • Connect with other YMCA members by attending classes.
  • Connect with our community by following our Essentia Wellness Center Facebook page.
  • Connect with a friend by writing a letter or sending an email.
  • Connect with a Personal Trainer by scheduling your Free Personal Training Session.
  • Connect with you mind & body by taking a yoga class.
